Commander Grave

“Power is not taken. It is extracted.”
Age: 47

Raised on a dystopian planet where survival demanded adaptation over morality, Commander Grave learned early that strength alone was never enough. Order had to be enforced. Control had to be absolute.

Imprisonment did not break him; it clarified him. When he learned of the Autom Scrolls, they did not inspire wonder or reverence, but purpose. To Grave, power is not sacred. It is a resource, and resources are meant to be claimed.

Grave owes loyalty to no kingdom, banner, or bloodline. His allegiance is to outcome alone. Alliances are formed when useful and abandoned when complete.

Alongside Lady Cruel, his wife and equal in ambition, Grave moves through fractured systems with precision. Together they are not chaos — they are design. Where others seek domination through force, Grave prefers inevitability, guiding events until resistance collapses under its own weight.

He does not conquer territories.
He reorganises them.

Background & Loyalties

Cold, calculating, and deeply controlled, Grave rarely raises his voice. His temper exists, but it is reserved, unleashed only when obstacles persist longer than necessary.

He enjoys psychological games, studying reactions and weaknesses with detached curiosity. Trust is not something he gives freely, and even Lady Cruel is not exempt from his scrutiny.

Grave believes emotion clouds judgement.
Yet he understands it well enough to weaponise it.

Personality

Tall and imposing, Commander Grave carries himself with mechanical certainty. His presence is heavy, deliberate, and unmistakably dominant.

Clad in military attire enhanced with functional technology, including stem valves to ease the effects of arthritis, his body reflects both endurance and cost. His striking blue eyes rarely betray intent; they assess, calculate and decide.

He does not adorn himself for status.
He wears what works.

Appearance

An elite combatant trained in street warfare, weapons mastery, and martial disciplines, Grave excels in sustained conflict. His movements are efficient, adaptive, and unforgiving.

Beyond physical prowess, his greatest strength lies in systems thinking; dismantling structures, destabilising hierarchies, and repurposing power sources for his own ends. Where others fight battles, Grave engineers outcomes.

Commander Grave does not rush victory.
He removes every alternative.
